Worried about Breast Cancer
Q: I’m worried about developing breast cancer, but apart from the usual check in the shower, is there anything I can do to check myself? I am not eligible for Breast Check.
A: The Irish Centre of Integrated Medicine in Johnstown, Co. Kildare, offers a breast assessment that is perfect for young women who don’t qualify for a mamogram and other women who want a combined screening method.
This test is extreemly effective and informative as it uses computerised thermographic imaging (pictured) that is capable of picking up on breast changes some 8-10 years earlier than other methods.
The imaging is combined with ultrasound, clinical breast examination, tumour markers abd questionnaire to give a full assessment with immediate results.
Blood tests follow one week later.
The assessment costs €380 for first-time patients, with €180 for a follow-up test, but the good news is that ICIM is offering a €50 discount for the month of October.
For more information, log on to http://breastassessment.com or call ICIM on 045 844819.
